This week the Library of Congress introduced the addition of greater than 4,000 new main supply paperwork to the By the Individuals web site. These main sources are all letters, notes, and manuscripts written by Walt Whitman.
The aim of the By the Individuals venture is to enlist the assistance of the general public to transcribe hundreds of main supply paperwork which are housed by and have been scanned by the Library of Congress. Through the years there have been collections of paperwork from the American Civil Conflict, papers from the American Revolution, presidential papers, paperwork about suffrage, and paperwork concerning the integration of Main League Baseball.
