Daily Tech Notes » First MP3 player MPMan F10 turns 10 this month

It was exactly 10 years ago in march 1998, world’s first MP3 player MPMan F10 was born. MPMan F10 had a flash storage of 32MB and required PC parallel port to transfer music files. F10 was manufactured by Korea’s Saehan Information Systems. Initially it was priced at $250!

Here are the MPMan F10 Specifications if you are curious like me!

  • Dimensions: 91 (H) x 70 (L) x 16.5 (W) mm
  • Weight: 65 grams
  • Storage: 32 or 64MB integrated flash memory, non-expandable
  • Power Source: two 1.5V AA rechargeable batteries with a docking station for recharging
  • Output capacity: headphones, 5mWx2
  • Mega Bass Function: 24dB (125Hz)
  • As you can see it was a compact MP3 player even in 1998! I bought one of these when I was in UK. Amazingly it still works.
